I’ll get around to the edge part in the next couple of posts. This website is about looking at the future of CALL. Computer Assisted Language Learning has been around for a long time. Since it is an old term, many newer ones have been suggested. TELL swaps out part of the acronym with Technology Enhanced. There is a mobile version: MALL. There are too many other iterations to catalog here (online learning, elearning, hybrid, blended, etc.) My definition is broad and includes all of these.

I see CALL as the conjunction of pedagogy, tech, and language. Here is one mapping.

So it is in this framework, from this perspective, that I hope to look at innovations in pedagogy, in language teaching and learning, but mostly in tech, and how these can be applied to CALL in its broadest sense.
